Iona Presentation Primary School, as a loving community, seeks to educate each child within a framework of Catholic values in an atmosphere of trust, openness and truth.

At Iona, we aim to provide opportunities for students to develop confidence, take risks and solve problems.

We offer a full sacramental program and weekly Eucharistic celebrations in the school chapel. Everyone at Iona is encouraged to conduct their daily life in a manner which reflects the teachings of Jesus.

Visual and performing arts are highly valued at Iona and all students experience Art, Drama, Music and Dance.

Our students are well prepared for the challenges of high school and their future adult lives.

Miles of Smiles!

There were miles of smiles as students returned for the 2012 school year at Iona Presentation Primary School. Our brave Year Ones led the way and confidently embraced the new routines. We welcomed a number of new families into our school community many of whom joined us for a cup of tea in Treacey Hall. We look forward to another busy and productive year.

Christmas in Africa - Iona makes a difference

Through the generosity of the entire school community we were able to collect 37 boxes, filled to overflowing, with wonderful gifts of stationery, toys and personal hygiene items. These have been delivered to the charity organisation, "Samaritan's Purse" who will ship them to underprivileged communities in Africa.

Iona families do make a difference. Thank you for your support.

PRESENTATION DAY 2011

Presentation Day is an opportunity for students, staff and families to celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple. This feast day is a special day in the life of the religious women who founded our school and who have dedicated their lives to God by becoming Presentation Sisters in the footsteps of their foundress Nano Nagle. The Iona community welcomed our new priest Father James as he celebrated Mass led by the Year 5 students. It was lovely to see many Presentation Sisters in attendance. At 12pm, families gathered to celebrate by joining us in a picnic and bush dance. A fun day was held by all. A big thank you to all those who contributed to the organization of the day.

Helping the Community

Excitement was all around at our recent school assembly as a cheque for $1554.00 was presented to the 'The Sisters Place.' This was the amount raised as a Mission focus for Term 4.

Remembering back over the term:

-We had a crazy sock day where we had very colourful and creative socks and while having lots of fun, were able to donate 632 pairs of socks to the Sisters Place.

-We had an Open Night raffle and three lucky families took away a lovely gift from the night.

-We enjoyed our fabulous Iona talent showcase. We have some great talent in our school and had a fun last day dressing as our fabourite artists and watching a fantastic show.

Thank you to everyone who participated in these great activities.
